Get Help
We come together at the Melting Point to connect as LGBT+ people and to help one another! The first form of help we provide is a space to meet, to organize, to fight, and take initiative.
If you are LGBT+, undocumented or seeking asylum
We will help you. We won’t see you as a victim but as a survivor fighting for yourself. At the Melting Point, we will help you take charge of your situation and better fight for your right to freedom and fulfillment.
You will be able to meet and connect with other people like you – lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans – who fled their countries to escape homophobia and live freely. We exchange advice, we talk to one another, we participate in different activities.
If you’re in the Paris area, you can find us every Sunday at 2pm at the bar Tango: 11 rue Au Maire, metro stop Arts et Métiers (Line 3 and 11). The first time you come it’s especially important to be on time.
The Tango is an LGBT+ club – a welcoming and safe place.
If you are not LGBT+
Sorry, if you are not an LGBT+ person, we won’t be able to help you. We don’t have the capacity or the skillset to support other types of asylum seekers. We can direct you to other organizations and collectives of undocumented people that could help you.
Some people think that It’s easy to get refugee status by pretending to be LGBT+. But it’s a lie, and it doesn’t work. Above all, it’s also not very considerate of us. We are volunteers. If you lie to us and don’t respect us, how do you expect us to respect you?
